Frequently asked questions

How do I log a workout?

Tap “Start workout”, add your exercises and, for each set, enter the weight and the reps and check the ✓. What you did last time shows up in gray: if you are repeating the same thing, just check the ✓ without typing anything. Checking off a set starts the rest timer. When you are done, tap “Finish” and the workout is saved to your history.

Do I need an account? What is it for?

You do not need one: Liftotta works with no account and no connection, and everything you log is stored on your device. The account is optional and free, and it gives you a cloud backup: switch phones, sign in with your account and your workouts are right there. You create it in Settings → Account, with Apple, with Google or with your email and a password. If you use your email, we send you a link to confirm it before you sign in.

I forgot my password

In Settings → Account, tap “Use my email”, choose “I already have an account”, type your email and tap “I forgot my password”. You will get an email with a link: open it on the phone where you have Liftotta and the app will ask you for the new password. If you signed in with Apple or Google, there is no password to remember: just tap that same button again.

How do I delete my account?

From the app itself: Settings → Account → “Delete my account”; we will ask you to confirm. Your account and the entire cloud backup are deleted immediately. The workouts on your phone are left untouched and your “No ads” purchase is not affected. The details are in the Privacy Policy. If you cannot get into the app, write to us from the account's email address at hello@opharana.com.

How do I do a superset or a drop set?

Superset: during the workout, open the “···” menu of an exercise and tap “Superset with the next one”. The two exercises are linked: when you check off a set of the first one there is no rest and the app tells you which one is next; the rest timer starts when you finish the last one. You can also set them up in your routines.

Drop set: tap the “Drop set” button next to “Add set”. The set appears with a “D”, counts toward your volume and your PRs, and there is no rest before it.

How do I mark a warm-up set?

Tap the set number: it cycles between normal set, warm-up and drop set. Warm-ups do not count toward your PRs or your volume. To delete a set, press and hold its number.

Can I use pounds instead of kilos? And change the language?

Yes. In Settings you can switch between kg and lb (your data is converted automatically), choose your default rest time and your weekly goal, and change the app's language. By default, the app uses your phone's language.

I can't find an exercise

In the exercise list, tap “Create”: give it a name and choose the muscle group, the equipment and what gets logged (weight and reps, reps only, time). And if you think it should be built in, write to us and we will add it.

I switched phones or deleted the app and lost my workouts

If you had an account, sign in with it in Settings → Account and your workouts come back from the cloud on their own. If you did not, your workouts were only on your device: if you delete the app or its data, or switch phones without a system backup (iCloud on iOS, Google backup on Android), they are lost and we cannot recover them, because we never had them. That is why we recommend creating an account, which is free.

What you do not lose is the “No ads” purchase, which is linked to your store account and can be restored on the new device. The Privacy Policy explains in detail what is stored and where.

What does “No ads” include?

It is a one-time purchase (you pay only once; it is not a subscription) that permanently removes all advertising from the app: the banners, the ads between sets and the one at the end of the workout. It stays linked to your store account and you can restore it on a new device.

Can I train ad-free without paying?

Yes. When you start a workout you will see the “Train ad-free” option: if you watch two short videos, you will not see any ads until you finish that workout. It is entirely optional.

Why does it ask me for permission for ads?

Because the app is funded by Google AdMob advertising and, in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the law requires us to ask for your consent before loading any personalized ad. On iOS, Apple's tracking prompt also appears. You can decline: you will see non-personalized ads and the app works exactly the same.

I paid and it is not showing up. How do I restore my purchase?

First, make sure you are using the same store account you bought it with (the same Apple ID or the same Google account).

  • iOS: go to Settings → “Restore purchases”. You may be asked for your Apple ID password.
  • Android: the purchase is restored on its own when you open the app with the Google account that made it. If it does not show up, fully close the app and open it again.

If it still does not show up, write to us at hello@opharana.com and attach the receipt from Apple or Google. Refunds are handled by Apple and Google, not by us: they must be requested from the store where the purchase was made.

I found a bug or the app closes by itself

Tell us about it at hello@opharana.com: let us know your device model and operating system version, and describe what you were doing when it happened. If you can, attach a screenshot. It helps us a lot.

Where do I download the app?

It has not been released yet. We are putting the finishing touches on the iOS and Android versions before submitting them to the App Store and Google Play. Once they are available, the download links will appear on the home page.
